“I love your outfit, it’s so beach inspired!” were the first words that my photographer spoke to me when we met at the location of this shoot, before we even went through the usual “how are you’s” and “how was your weekend’s.” After she said that, I realized that I wasn’t actually going for a beach inspired look. I guess something in me that subconsciously misses the beach was? I mean, we are half way through summer and I still haven’t been to the beach. So it’s no surprise that I am dressing like I should be at the beach. Well, if you subtract the boots and the culottes.
What was I going for though? Usually when I come up with outfits, I am most interested in the colours and the shape (structure). The colour coordination in this outfit goes without saying. I mean, its just black white and straw (tan). In terms of the shape, I love how the Zara tunic falls nicely over the culottes and almost hides them, and how the ‘flowiness’ of the tunic meets with the firmness of the culottes. Am I thinking too deeply about this outfit? Okay, maybe I should stop.
I guess the beach vibes my lovely photographer was getting from the outfit was because of the straw fedora (an obvious beach accessory).

This is a nice casual outfit for running errands. You’d have to take the boots off if you’ll be walking a lot, of course. Your turn. Where would you wear this outfit to?
Changing it Up
If I took off the boots and the culottes and threw on a flat sandals or slippers, I would definitely blend in at any beach!
