Pix-elated Passion: New Brand Strategy

Hi guys!  So when I announced my new brand strategy on Instagram, I promised to give a more in-depth explanation of the new brand strategy. While it may seem like I don’t need to explain the my brand strategy to you, an explanation would help you understand the content I create (for you guys) better. Hopefully, after this, when you see the title of a blog post/video, you’ll know exactly where it fits in my blog/brand strategy.

First Things First

In order for you to understand the rebrand of my blog and what it stands for now, you would have to understand what my blog stood for before the relaunch. While thinking about this blog post, I realized that I never shared the initial reasoning/purpose behind my blog with YOU, the readers. And this is one of the main problems I’ve tried to solve in with the new brand strategy, and with this blog post.

A Pix-elated Focus

So what did my blog initially stand for? Nothing. Nothing in particular. I created my blog in 2015, at a time when I wasn’t really sure what I wanted. At this point, I had a bunch of interests and passions. Because I had chosen to give all these passions an equal amount of attention, the lens through which I viewed life was constantly blurry. I had no focus. Hence, the name PIX-ELATED PASSION. With no blog brand/strategy, I decided to embrace my lack of focus (hey, there’s no shame in that!) and see where it takes me.

Jack(ie) of All Trades

I had an interest in fashion, graphic design, music, acting, modelling, architecture, interior design, to name a few. Get this: the problem was NOT that I had an interest in all of these things. It was that I had an equal amount of interest in all of them, and that I invested an equal amount of time in all of them. I always tell people that my blog was created as a testing board for all these interests. And all the skills I learned in my digital communications/professional writing program.

Fast forward to November/December last year, roughly 2 years since my first blog post and one year since I started blogging consistently, I finally have a focus. Or two. I have been able to carve this niche because of you. Because of your consistent response to certain posts.

You could say that my passion/vision isn’t pixelated anymore. Ha! While I still like all the things I mentioned above, I have decided to prioritize some and leave the rest as just hobbies.

The New Brand Strategy

This is where the new direction for my blog comes in. After realizing that most of my followers are creatives/aspiring entrepreneurs, I have decided to focus on content that will not only allow me to continue to express myself (in style and writing)  but also content that YOU will find helpful and inspiring.  I want to help creatives do what I have done for myself: craft a focus/strategy amidst my many passions. I know this problem of lack of focus is one that plagues a lot of creatives. And it is probably one of the biggest problems that most creatives face. This is because when we lack focus, we become an easy target for stagnancy.

Making it Applicable

So, how does this new direction materialize into the brand? Through all of the brand pillars I shared with you on Instagram: synergy, strategy, collaboration and intentionality. My new brand strategy is inclusive and responsive to the needs of you the readers. My new brand strategy is concerned with the creative who is looking to fortify their passions with strategy and purpose. My new brand strategy is concerned with the creative who is looking to make their creativity count by making an impact in other people’s lives.

I want us to build this new platform together, because (like I said) I’ve learned that most of you are (aspiring) creatives and (aspiring) entrepreneurs.  Hence, I will be asking you about what kind of content you want to see more of tomorrow, through my Instagram Stories. There will also be some other cool platforms (launching through Pix-elated Passion) that will be dedicated to helping creatives and entrepreneurs express themselves better. Stay tuned for those! I’m excited to share them with you.

Making it Visual

How does this materialize into the brand visual identity? In the new logo, the two P’s (that stand for Pix-elated Passion) are joined together. This represents the collaboration and synergy.

On the blog banner, the name of the blog is typed out in lower case (as opposed to all caps in the last one), to symbolize a humility about the brand, that is materialized in it’s responsiveness to the readers/audience.

All of that  said, what can you expect from this blog? Well, the blog is now a style, lifestyle and inspiration hub for creatives (writers, photographers, graphic designers, make-up artists, entrepreneurs, etc). However, every piece of content will be shared through the lens of my personal experience as a creative.

What you Can Expect

Creatives/Entrepreneurs (YOU):

  • Tips on how to hone your unique style
  • Tips on how to hone your creative skills (writing, graphic design, branding, photography etc)
  • Tips on how to get into or advance in the creative industry
  • Tips on how to understand your blog audience and create an appropriate brand strategy
  • Whatever else you vote for via Instagram stories tomorrow! Be sure to check in, to cast your vote
