Although denim on denim (aka Canadian Tuxedos) are no longer an abomination in the fashion -I don’t like to use that word – and style world, it is still a difficult combo to pull off. If you aren’t careful how you wear your denim on denim combo, you might end up looking like a meme! One trick I find that works all the time is adding another layer onto your Canadian Tuxedo, in the form or a jacket or a statement blazer. These jackets or blazers work best when they add a pop of colour to the outfit. I think this outfit demonstrates this tip quite well. The orange blazer adds some excitement to the otherwise basic denim and denim combo. Another way to make your denim on denim combos work is by combining denim fabrics of different colours and textures. For example, combining a heavier denim fabric with a lighter one or pairing blue denim with grey denim, as I have also done in this outfit. This helps prevent your outfit from looking too “matchy matchy.”
Wear To: Work, work meeting, business meeting, Church. Where would you wear this to?
Switching it Up: Make the outfit more casual by taking the sandals off, and adding a pair of white kicks.
