Statement Blazer

Although denim on denim (aka Canadian Tuxedos) are no longer an abomination in the fashion -I don’t like to use that word – and style world, it is still a difficult combo to pull off. If you aren’t careful how you wear your denim on denim combo, you might end up looking like a meme! One trick I find that works all the time is adding another layer onto your Canadian Tuxedo, in the form or a jacket or a statement blazer. These jackets or blazers work best when they add a pop of colour to the outfit. I think this outfit demonstrates this tip quite well. The orange blazer adds some excitement to the otherwise basic denim and denim combo. Another way to make your denim on denim combos work is by combining denim fabrics of different colours and textures. For example, combining a heavier denim fabric with a lighter one or pairing blue denim with grey denim, as I have also done in this outfit. This helps prevent your outfit from looking too “matchy matchy.”

Wear To: Work, work meeting, business meeting, Church. Where would you wear this to?

Switching it Up:  Make the outfit more casual by taking the sandals off, and adding a pair of white kicks.

I’m loving the “combinashiuon”. Would love to try this side of the world but errmm, the weather..oh wait! Harmattan is right around the corner 😁 Also love the pop of color, trying to incorporate that into my wardrobe or soon to be existing wardrobe as I can’t remember when last I got myself something 😩 Maybe Ankara and other fabrics.
Me, I can rock this one anywhere, meeting, lunch, a late movie definitely because these cinemas be chilly these days *shivers*.

Ehem, I don’t want the sandals in the similar section, it’s this very one you have on that I covet. Add that to the list which I hope you’ve started keeping, mentally or little black book, no wait, yellow book, yellow is cheerful. Yes I saw your previous reply. Ngwanu, signing out. 😘

Yep, pops of colour always make the outfit more fun and you can definitely do that with ankara. 🙂

Hahaha, okay. But I won’t give you these ones. I’ve over worn them. Don’t worry, I’m keeping a mental list. But you should too, o.
