Timing. This last week has thought me a lot about timing and waiting and preparedness. A lot of the things I was anxious about last week or a few weeks before, I got answers to this week. These answers and validations were delayed, but they still came. What did this teach me? That worrying is a really silly trait! There is no point in investing your emotions into it since what will be will be. From strange coincidences (or at least what we think are coincidences) to deep conversations with my sisters and friends about timing, I thing God really just wanted to teach me a few things about waiting this week.
Onto this Outfit
One key ingredient for coming up with a chic outfit is simplicity. Every chic outfit is simple in one way or the other. This means you could argue that the title of this post “The Simple Chic” is redundant. When I put together outfits, much like when I create designs, simplicity is a major driving factor. For me, the moment I start to add on to an outfit to make it look “more stylish” or “style-blogger-ish” or eye-catching, that is the moment that the outfit falls apart. Just like every piece of artwork, an outfit has a moment when it is complete. Anything added onto the outfit after this moment is extra and unnecessary. I think this outfit embodies this idea of simplicity well.
Lunch with friends on a nice, warm afternoon. (Be sure to bring some flats with you though!)
Switch it Up:
For a less sophisticated look, switch the pumps with a pair of strappy-heeled sandals.
