This week I realized how important it is to slow down and cut down on the people pleasing. Unfortunately, no matter how much I’ve championed the idea of focusing on pleasing God instead of people and updated my FB status to “living for an audience of one,” my people pleasing tendencies are still there. I’ve realized how important it is to shower my self with the same kind of love, protection, thoughts that I always try to direct towards other people.
Have you ever stopped to think, “wait, what about myself?” “I need some love too.” “I need to be protected too.” “I need to be worried about too.” Okay, maybe not the worry part. But you get the point.
A lot of us say that we love ourselves, but do we really? Do you love yourself enough to pick your battles? Do you love your self enough to let go of grudges? Do you love your self enough to say enough is enough?
If you don’t make space for self love, the world will take up the space and bury every chance you have at self discovery with comparison, competition, jealousy and purposelessness.
Onto this Outfit
Running this blog for a little over a year now, one major thing I’ve learned about my style is that it can’t be put in a box. My style runs across the different genres of style – classic, casual, sporty, boho, etc but one thing it has to be is clean/simple and chic.
I think this outfit represents the above point well. In styling the white boho dress, I made it less stereotypical boho and more me (simple, yet chic).
This is why I always say it is important to know your personal style and my blog is dedicated to encourage you to do so! I have a few tips to help you out with that here.
This white boho dress is perfect for the beach or a picnic with friends or family.
How would you style a white boho dress? And where would you wear this outfit to? Let me know in the comments section.
